Jameston's Jargon

I've been meaning to sit down and write this since, oh, the Fall...as you can see from some of the pictures! So, here go some of the quotes that I can remember from the last 2-3 months!

"Mommy, I told Skye and Isabella (friends at "school") that God in heaven wanted us to get married. And they told me they don't want to get married. And I said to them, 'I am really disappointed in you.'" Ha! He's heard that last line a time or two!!
"We're gonna do some-fin!" He says this with his best excited-face when he wants us to quit what we're doing to join him in whatever shenanigans he's got up his sleeve.
Our oldest has a wee-bit of a Texas accent, and he is oh so polite. Even when he's whining...
When I say something along the lines of, "Your toy is in the living room." He will say, "What at?" instead of "Where at?" Also, he says "I'm sorein" for "sore" (usually when he doesn't want to cooperate) and
he still confuses words such as "deptuty" for deputy, "ambience" for ambulance, and he says "artillery" (from "The Lord's Army") in the cutest voice!

My favorite word mispronunciation of his over the last couple of months was "Becklehem" for Bethlehem
JW often says, "Not by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin." And "Bet your bottom dollar."
He still loves the Bible story about David and Goliath, and anytime he can get his hands on something that resembles a sword or gun, he will. And then he usually proceeds to say, "I got a rifle on my back. I'm a soldier."
The boy LOVES his books (and Blake's books, too :-) I mean, when he comes across one that he really likes, we have to read it every day, twice a day (before nap and bedtime) for at least a week! Some recents have included, "Charlie the Ranch Dog," and "The Get-Along-Gang."

He is so book-obsessed that, if we are going somewhere new, he will say, "Do they have books there?"
Another of his favorites lately is "The Giving Tree." When we were around family for Christmas, he would recite the part at the end when the old man told the tree that he was too old to eat, climb, and swing. Jameston would talk (and still does) like he had no teeth and act it out for us. And it is hilarious!
Lately, he is also REALLY into cars...we will hear him re-inact scenes from Cars 2 (his newest movie), and, as of late, he wants to know the make/model of every car we drive/walk by...
Common phrases we hear related to numbers and time are, "Just five more minutes" or "just a little minute," particularly when he is trying to stall before bedtime :-) Also, he says that we will do things on Wednesdays or Saturdays for some reason, and pretty much everything costs "twenty dollars" according to him!
Love our biggest boy!
