Elise at 4 months old

Elise turned 4-months-old on the 4th,
exactly a year later to the day that we found out we were expecting another little blessing :-)
I took her in for her 4-month-appt yesterday, and here are the numbers:

Weight: 16lbs 5 oz. (85%)
Height: 26.75 in. (99%)
She's wearing size 2 diapers, still size 1 shoe (long, little feet) and 3-6 months clothes. But she is feeling those out, so I bet we move up to 6-9 months before she's half a year old!

Eating every 3-4 hours during the day; when she has a bottle, she eats about 5-6 ounces
She is sleeping great at night, in a sleepsack! She sometimes rolls to her side and snoozes well :-)
She naps great, usually 2 long ones (and in her crib some days when we are at home, yay!) with maybe a short cat nap in there.
Big milestones this month are that she:
  • Is rolling back to front (not consistently though, and more often just to her side)
  • Has found her feet! Will have pictures to document this with next month's post
  • Has found her voice, too! Even her cry is different these days!  And she makes a gurgling sound quite often with a lot of babbling sounds. Girl is LOUD when she wants to be, ha!
  • She is a pretty good supported sitter (no pictures to prove it, like the new-found feet feat), does well in the bumbo and boppy
And, like her big brothers, she LOVES the Jumerpoo!
Elise tolerates tummy time but usually not for long!

Recent happenings:
  • She has started to spit up more this month, probably because she is upright more maybe?
  • Baby sister has the best belly laugh, and I have the best video that documents it (hope to upload it!)
  • She likes to SING back to us when we're singing
  • Elise loves to look in the mirror and the funny faces Mommy makes while we singing and talking into the mirror
  • She has a "Popeye" smile, where she closes one eye slightly
  • LOVES Peekabo/"where are you/I see!"
  • Seems to recognize her name
  • We've started doing the touch books, and she seems to like the textures
  • She is drool factory and has started blowing lots of bubbles lately! And she likes to chew on her hands, case in point...

  • She is trying to gum all things, not just her hands, so we'll see how far behind her little teethers are...
Big brothers are so sweet with her! Melts my heart...

Here is a pic collage of all three kiddos around 2 months old. You can tell they're siblings, huh?
But Elise has the biggest eyes of all three, that's for sure. Baby blues:
She wasn't a fan of the backyard pool
One morning we had a play date with some of her (and big brothers') siblings. Here she is with Misses Kenzie and Addy!
Also, as previously posted, we headed to the lake for E's (and Blake's) first camping experience. Here she is with my middle sis, Lynnlee. Love it!
She tolerated the outdoors very well :-)
Happy 4-months, baby girl!

A'camping we went!

Some of Brett and my fondest memories from our childhood are camping with our families. So, we want to do the same with our kiddos as much as we can...you know, get away from the concrete and out in nature, no TV's..."roughin." it. Our view of roughing it is so much different than when we were growing up :-) So, why not start now?

Two weekends ago, we loaded up and headed to campsite on Lake Lewisville (only about 5-10 minutes from my dad's/stepmom's house in case we backed out or needed anything :-) We had planned to go in May but that fell through. And this weekend all three of my siblings could go. We were all in!!

Elise and I enjoyed the shade quite a bit!
The boys enjoyed everything about the weekend...especially water guns, haha!
Brett arrived a little later and the boys "helped" him set up our living quarters for the next two nights
Everything is a weapon according to Blake, haha!
Then Pops got busy grilling our dinner, burgs and dawgs
With Jameston's help of course :-)
Before we ate we also checked out the swimming spot/boat dock with Zep, Aunt Maggie's dog
"Supper-time!" One of Blake's favorite words :-)
We survived our first night camping in a tent (not in our backyard)...the kids slept great, and better than their parents!
Breakfast jams and bubbles
Breakfast tacos with Daddy
Elise got the prime spot by the fan all weekend. She was a trooper!
She fought naps all weekend since we didn't have (our loot of baby stuff) and only napped on me..I loved it!!
Boat time! We headed out for a morning cruise, and the boys ate it up! Blake kept saying, "Get the bad guys!" Oy vey...
J even got to drive (ie, sit in Pops' lap and steer :-)
Precious boy with a mischievous streak!
After lunch the boys enjoyed some water sprinkler fun before their cousins arrived
Action shots!
While Princess Elise observed
Blake and his "shooting bad guys" pose...cracks me up!
Girl time!! Aunties Maggie and Lynnlee and her crew loving on the youngest cousin
Sporting her first shades, wearing them like Mommy does :-)
Aunts and sweet Josie
Brett oversaw the hobo dinner grilling in the background, Blake trying to hug Josie in the foreground, haha!

Yum! Everyone enjoyed!!
Evening boat ride, Lynnlee and Josie, 18 months
Aspen LOVED being behind the wheel, too!
Aunt and cousin loving on Baby Elise
Love.
Night #2 didn't go as well...started raining around 1 am. Poor Brett did it all because I had a child sleeping on me
The kids slept through it all, thank goodness!!
We had to pack up and leave early, which was a bummer, but we had a great time! Proooobably won't be camping next summer, but who knows...We like to be spontaneous like that :-)
