Easter 2011-Part 2

Warning: This post has a TON of pictures!
Sunday morning, we woke up a wee bit earlier (say 6:30) to eat breakfast as a family and for Jameston to see what the Easter Bunny brought him before we headed to church. He was not a happy camper getting all dressed up, but his demeanor quickly changed with he saw all his new goodies!
His favorite: his "shu-bull" as he calls it. And his rake. He is really pronouncing his k's on the end of words these days. Love it!
He received some books (a coloring book, too),
the gardening tools, some treats and sweets (in the form of animal crackers and his Cars, or "honk-honk" snacks), some new duds (which he could have cared less about), and a new "Elmo" toothbrush and Thomas the Train toothpaste
He had a FULL morning at home and then church. It was a beautiful service celebrating our Risen Lord! In fact, the morning wore Jameston out! He was dancing in the car when we told him we were headed to Riley and Ruby's house...and then 5 seconds later, this was his pose:
It was hilarious!
Once we got to his cousins in Royse City, the kids quickly got to playing and blowing up balloons (Riley and Maddox only)
JW and Ruby looked on (they look like twins in this picture!)
After a fantastic ham and fixin's lunch, we headed outside for another egg hunt :-)
Geared up and ready!
Love this one of Ruby!
I think he was checking out his competition in this one :-)
Love them!
First attempt at a family pic---ha!
That'll do
After the past two weekends, the boy has a new-found love of chocolate!
And then we headed to the front yard to hunt the hard-boiled eggs. Note Riley's shoe choice :-)
What's this?
And if that wasn't enough action, the kids had fun swinging, climbing and sliding after the egg hunting!
Love Jameston's face in this one:
Back inside for more Easter fun with baskets and more candy!
A new favorite of JW...sweet (and tired) little boy!
We hope you and your families had a blessed day celebrating Jesus' resurrection!

Easter 2011-Part 1

On Saturday we headed to Jameston's daycare for a community Easter egg hunt. It was from 10:30 to noon, so I was worried how JW would hold up for the hunt since it would impede his normal nap time. Brett worked from home that morning so that we could go as a family!
It was overcast and a little humid. The weather permitted, and festivities went off without a hitch! They had bounce houses, games, Bible characters, and
a ventriloquist!
My boys
JW really didn't know what to think of it all. I think he was just in a nap-time daze
He was kind enough to pose for Mommy (this was after several out-takes)
He did NOT like the bounce house, but he did give the ball pit a try. He normally likes them, but we are in the throes of separation anxiety (again). This was the best I could get!
He livened up in time for the egg hunt!
Cousin Aspen, my sister and bro-in-law, dad and step-mom joined in on the fun! Here is Jameston holding Aspen's hand after I asked him to...
At first she wasn't too keen on the idea, but then she gave in
Let's go hunt some eggs, Mommy!
Look at that loot!
Since he had some experience egg-hunting (weekend before in Plainview), he was a pro this time around! He couldn't get anymore eggs in his basket when it was all said and done. And he didn't really care what was inside the eggs
Thomas showing Aspen the ropes
So, due to all the rain we received the days before, there were TONS of (hidden) ants in the fields.. And guess WHO found them (at least 100 of them. yep) with her knee while taking a picture of her precious son? I seriously knelt down for about 3 seconds...and wha-lah:
Several of the kiddos had bites all over their feet (JW had three :-(
Let's just say that awesome experience, coupled with it being lunch and nap time, had us ready to call it a day!
Overall, it was a great time, and we will be there again next year (with our ant-spray in hand)!

Aunt Kayla

So, it is a well-known fact that our nieces LOVE their Aunt Kayla. Now that Jameston is old enough to keep up with his cousins, he has found out just how cool his aunt is! We are so glad to have her back state-side so that they get to spend more time with her!

The first night we stayed at her place, she made Memaw's famous banana pudding, along with the help of her nieces and nephews!

I just love (and was very surprised by) how attentive they were! TOOOOOO cute!

Ruby and Nilla-wafer bandit, JW

They even posed long enough for a picture (well, at least the girls did. Jameston was too distracted by the measuring cup :-)

What can I say? The boy LOVES lids!

And she gave them gallop lessons with "YEE-HAWS" a'plenty

Our last morning there the kiddos helped her make pancakes! Let's just say they ate well that weekend :-)

Jameston, like Riley, Ruby and Layne, sure does love his Aunt Kayla!
