7 months!

Didn't I just write his sixth-month post?! Our Baby Blake turned 7-months on Sunday...it seems like this last month was a big one for our little (er, big) fella!
He is weighing in at about 23-23.5 lbs. and is longer than his carrier, so we are moving him to convertible carseat this weekend! Everyone states how B has small-ish feet when compared to the rest of him! He's wearing size 9 month shirts and 12 months pants, and still size 4 month diapers.

Big milestones this month:
  • He's sitting unsupported! We do put blankets or the boppy around him just because he is still a little spastic :-) He's so proud!
  • Blake is rolling like crazy and will do so to get to something he wants. He is starting to show signs of army crawling
  • He is also starting to use his legs more, not only for bouncing away in the Jumperoo or Johnny Jump Up, but he also likes to stand on our lap or on the floor and hold our hands (and he jumps there like crazy as well)
  • HE IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! Big milestone in my book, maybe not his :-) He usually goes to bed around 7:30, and wakes anywhere from 4:30-6:30. A-OK with me! And usually he goes back to sleep until 7 or 8, but some mornings he is up raring to go after that feeding. He is napping still 2-3 times a day, depending on how he is feeling. He currently has his third ear infection in three months :-( Due to that and the teething, he has been more of a cuddler lately, which I am relishing!
  • He has starting reaching up for us when we are about (or he really wants us) to pick him up. The best!
  • He is learning new sounds (especially yelling/shrieking when excited---ear piercing!) and grunting/humming more than ever. His new syllables are "ba," "ga," and "ya". No "mama" yet :-(
  • After what seemed like forever that we were seeing this
we finally have a tooth!
  • His bottom right, bottom central tooth came in this week, and his left bottom and top ones don't look far behind...
(best close up I could get with two boys, one trying to be my little helper :-)
  • He has recently started a yelling/shrieking phase. And he has a laugh lately that sounds like a goat. It is all pretty funny, really.
Over the lsat month, he has started to perfect his pincer grasp, so he is getting to be a pro at feeding himself. He loves Mum-Mum's and we just started the puffs. He is also slowly getting the hang of a sippy cup.
Big bro has started to want to help feed him. We supervise, and it is oh.so.sweet!
Blake continues to be a good eater (I mean, just take a look at his chubby legs or cheeks :-)
Favorites still seem to be bananas, peas and sweet potatoes. Going to try, try to introduce different veggies. He tried butternut squash and greek yogurt in the last couple of weeks, and he didn't baulk at either. We'll see if he has any new favorites soon...for the time being, we are LOVING the Plum pouches. Great for when we are in a hurry or out in a about!
The boy still loves his bath time, and he has REALLY started kicking and splashing up a storm when he's in there. It is so fun to watch! He also kicks a lot when he hears music, which is greatness!
We have upstairs and downstairs bathtubs, so we have gotten the inflatable duck out for some baths...he loves it! Big brother? Not so much, since it takes up a lot of room :0)

His favorite "new" toy this month is the Baby Einstein's activity arch, which was Jameston's
We hit up the playground in late October for his first swing in the bucket seat. He absolutely loved it, as his big brother does!

Things I want to remember (or rather don't want to forget documenting) are that he:
  • Laughs when getting his hair combed
  • Is a giggle box when he is around big brother. If anyone wants to get B to smile, we get JW to do it! Love it!
  • Has started the twisting-like-crazy phase when we are changing his diaper. Hoping it doesn't last long!
  • Absolutely HATES us wiping his face or nose
  • He hums when he is bouncing in our laps...it is kind of a sing-song sound. As I mentioned, he loves when we sing to him
  • Loves Peek-A-Boo, "patting" things such has his Bumbo tray or books, us singing to him especially "Hush Little Baby," and texture books (or any paper goods, for that matter)
  • He loves, loves, loves his Aunt Maggie!
  • Has developed quite the TEMPER lately...and he will let everyone in the state know if he's upset :-( It is usually when we take something (such as a paper product) away from him. Oh boy!
  • Has the most sensitive skin :-(
He is such a HAPPY baby, always willing to flash the best expressions and his not-for-long gummy smile :-) We love you, Baby Blake!

Sweet little Josie

My younger sister, Lynnlee, and her husband, Thomas, welcomed their second precious girl on 11/7. She weighed 7.11. Baby Josie, as Jameston calls her, is a doll!
I traveled sans kids to visit them so that I could get some quality bonding time in with my newest niece. I am in love!
And I got to watch this precious almost-three-year-old and big sis, Aspen. We had fun!
She is such a great big sister!
Sisterhood is one of life's greatest blessings! Can't wait to see these two precious girls again soon!!

Fall festivities

This was all in October, please pardon my delay in posting. 'Tis the season for being busier than usual!

One day in early October we headed to the Arboretum with some friends. Here is JW at the entrance:
I guess he's pretending to be an airplane?
My sweet friend, Jen, took a picture of me and my boys in the Cinderella carriage. Comedy of errors!

The best we got!

He had a blast this year, although he grew bored more quickly than he did last year. I think age two is the prime time to take them!
We also took in the Chihuly exhibt while we there. Awesome!

One weekend in late October, we headed to The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina with two other families. The kids (and adults, I would say) had a great time!

Jameston was all about fedding the animals:

Our sweet friends, Charlotte and Emmie

Pre-Hayride pic, that Blake protested during...

Love this pic!

My sweet boys

It was fun and worth the drive, but also quite a balancing-act since I was flying solo :-) We will definitely try to go back in years to come!

We also met up with members of our church's small group at a house up in Anna one Sunday evening. The hostess went all out and had lots of fun activities lined up for the kiddos.

Decorating pumpkins!

Also, a Pinata, hay ride, games and even a tractor ride, driven by Brett!

I love Fall!

Whaat?!

Blogger told me the other day that I had exceeded my storage limit? Um, did not know this could happen! Any tips out there in the blogosphere?! I do not upload photos through Picasa, just through iPhoto on our Mac. I do try to remember to decrease the file size, mainly for time's sake. But now I guess that really matters. It is telling me I need to upgrade my storage plan. To PAY to be able to post more photos to this here blog...you may be seeing more posts from my iPhone :-)

We had a ball!

Jameston turned 3 in late September, and this Mommy forgot to post about all the fun we had celebrating him. Ahhh! We had a grand ole time, that's for sure! These are out of order, so forgive my ramblings.

His "big" gift this year was a bicycle, training wheels and all. He was excited, don't let the picture fool ya :-)

We went to Joe's Crabshack that night and they sang to him while he danced (no pictures :-( Hilarious!

The morning of his birthday, we celebrated with breakfast and one present
Chocolate chip pancakes, and strawberries and bacon. Yum!

And he got to open all of the birthday cards he received in the mail from family...

After Daddy left for work, we left for the Dallas Zoo! We met up with his good buddy, Jackson, for a morning full of fun!

So sweet. They are great friends!
Jameston LOVES animals, so this was perfect for his special day!
We had a baseball-themed party for him this year. He loves to hit the baseball and the Texas Rangers, so it was a no-brainer...cupcakes!

Cousins, Riley and Ruby and Aspen joined u, and several of his friends

They took turns pinning the helmet on the baseball player (hey, it was scheduled to be at the park, but it rained.all.day.long. So I improvised!)
Camden's turn

Jackson

Vaughn

Noelle

He received a sheriff kit, which went hand-in-hand with his Halloween costume this year!

Cowboy hat from Uncle Cade

He got a helmet from Pops and Gigi

Blake had fun celebrating Jameston's birthday, too!
So glad I remembered to post this before he turned 4 :-)
