Insta-Friday

Our week through Instagram pics (I'm a tad bit addicted to the app...maybe it appeals to the graphic design part of me?) Anywho, I've seen this on other blogs, and I hope to keep it up!

Checking his email with his assistant, Boomer, one rainy morning

Just being cute

Our Zoo trip last Friday (a separate post to come on that :-)

Jameston has really started interacting more with Blake lately...love!

Our first smiles at 5 weeks! Same age Jameston's appeared

One Saturday afternoon, this is how I found JW after I had heard him singing and reading loudly during naptime. I was busy feeding Blake and went in to check on the anti-napper-as-of-late about 15 minutes later...I guess he figured out how to take off the doorknob cover, but didn't have any more energy to open the door to escape :-)

Lunch after church at Five Guys! The boy loves peanuts (and almonds)!

Blake also discovered his arms and hands around week 5. He's getting more confident and tries to move them toward objects on his bouncer and activity mat

We are in the midst of our first major renovation in our second home...we figured now was as good of a time as ever with me on maternity leave and Brett having a more relaxed schedule at work. More to come on this!

Jameston acting out his version on Samson-I love his love for learning about God

Blake listening to Jameston's interpretation...

Big (and handsome) boy showing us how tall he is

During the recent rain storm, the boys and I hit up Braum's to get out of the house-Jameston was thrilled! This trying to be dairy-free momma wishes they had lactose-free options :-(

One of my faves from the week...Blake snoozing on my lap early one morning

Water fun

With the summer heat comes lots of outdoor water play, especially with a two-year-old boy! I wanted to share these pictures of how we have been spending a lot of our time lately...these were taken with my phone, so not the best quality.

JW loves the water sprinkler from Papa

Three weekends back, a pool full of cousins!

Daddy and Jameston enjoying the community pool

More of the sprinkler...how the kid gets his water intake for the day :-)

Great pic, despite the snot string under his nose...thank goodness I can photoshop!

More at the pool---LOVE!

So the last few days we have been enjoying cooler temperatures along with the rain we've had...I know Jameston is itching to get back outside! I'm hoping it stays cool for awhile-yeah right!

Lake trip

For Memorial Day weekend, we took my dad and stepmom up on their offer to get out on Lake Grapevine in their pontoon boat. Yes, even Blake joined in on the fun---no worries, he was covered head to toe, in the shade, and in a lifejacket :-) Hard to see him in his hat---he napped most of the two hours. Think he liked the sound of the motor and the motion of the waves :-)

Jameston had a BLAST!! He's been excited to go out in the boat since he stayed at Pops and GiGi's house when we were in the hospital for Blake's birth. Pops even let him sit next to him and "drive!"

Swimming (in a life jacket)!!

One cool dude

These pictures sum up JW's excitement the whole time!

Wind in your hair---yep, this is the life!

Cheese!! We had a great time and are looking forward to next time :-)

Baseball boys of summer

With summer comes baseball, right? To say that Jameston is obsessed with the pastime lately would put it mildly. Both mommy and daddy make good pitchers, according to our little guy.

He's got good hand-eye coordination and a strong swing!! He can be heard saying, "I hit it! I hit a home run!"

I'm sure our neighbors are thrilled! But we haven't hit any over their fence yet :-)

Newborn/Family portraits

Several weeks back, our good friend, Shannon, offered to take newborn and family pictures for us. She is trying to gain some experience for a portfolio of sorts to offer along with her being a doula and prenatal yoga instructor. We were glad to be here guinea pigs, as I did not plan on getting "professional" pictures taken (I am married to an accountant, and that is why, in his opinion, we "bought one of those fancy cameras.") I digress...well, here are our favorites (it was hard to narrow down, as I think she did a WONDERFUL job capturing our little family!

Introducing Mr. Blake Everett

Big brother kisses

Our family of four

Loves of my life

Big brother love...these two are my absolute favorites:

We attempted to go outside,

but Blake had other plans...

Cannot not love the timelessness of black and white photos

Blake was getting hungry (this was when he was eating every 2 hours), so she captured some great ones of us two

And he was getting tired after he ate, so we were lucky to get a couple at the end

Love

And then Blake had decided he had had enough!

We used three of these pictures for his birth announcements, which went out today. Stay tuned for that...
