New Year celebrations

We continued the Christmas celebrations and met up with my siblings, dad and step mom in Flower Mound New Year's Day (the day after we moved out of our house in Rowlett and to Royse City to live with my BIL/SIL and their two girls). It was an action-packed couple of days to say the least! My camera and video batteries had died (thanks to Brett having packed them in the move...but, hey, I am not complaining because he did SO much of the packing since I had to work), so I was stranded for a good two weeks without a camera. Not an easy thing around the holidays! So, alas! Here are a few pictures taken from my step mom's camera...

My guys

My beautiful sis and her lil' bit, Aspen, who just turned 1!!

Blooper reel...trying to get two toddlers to take a group pic. HA!

Take 2

Good enough, even though Jameston is mid-blabber :-)

The cutie-pies in their coordinating sweaters

Time for presents! Again, Jameston made out like a bandit thanks to Gramps and Grammy

He LOVES, loves his new truck and hard hat :-) Seriously, they are daily favorites!

And even loves dunking on the dump truck?

Love this picture! Can't wait to see what future holidays have in store for the Stewart clan :-)

Thanks, Dad and Glenda, for hosting such a fun (and memorable) time for us, especially the grand babies!

Christmas in March

Not really. That's just when I finally got around to blogging about it! We headed to Wichita Falls on the 23rd to see my mom. While there, we made sure to stop by the Fantasy of Lights Christmas display.

This is one of my fondest holiday memories growing up, so I was glad we were able to take Jameston.

On Christmas Eve morning, we headed to San Angelo to see Brett's dad's side of the family. As usual, a wonderful time was had by all (especially Jameston, since he was a little more active this Christmas compared to last :-)
Here he is diggin' in to a gift on Christmas Eve! Our baby boy was spoiled by his Granny and Papa and aunts and uncles :-)Cutie-patooty second-cousin, Ian, who is just one month younger than JW. Oh, the fun they will have together!Really, the only time he would sit still...The boys! One of his favorite gifts: his "foo-ball!"Christmas morning! Playing with the tape...some of the best toys are the wrapping supplies and boxes the gifts come in!He lovedGage's Toy Story toys...don't know what he's trying to tell us here :-)Christmas day was a blast! One of my favorite pictures...The kids LOVED having Memaw play with them in the playroom! Aunt Patricia gave all the little ones matching pajamas to wear on Christmas night! It was HILARIOUS trying to get them to all look at the camera at the same time. For brevity sake, I'll leave out all the bloopers :-)
Here's the best one we got!The Winters' crewAnd the cousins with their MemawAnd the kiddos plus spousesCute pic of Ms. Layne and Jameston enjoying the playroom one more time!Right before we hit the road to travel back to Dallas! We had a wonderful Christmas and can't wait 'til next (I mean, this) year's! I guess that's the plus side to my belated blogging...less than 10 months :-)

Happy New Year from the Winters...

A little overdue (but, hey, this gal has been without some crucial internet supplies for, like, 2 whole months)!

Slowly getting there...

With the move three weeks ago and the recent weather, our family has been operating on slow-mode it seems. Sure, we've mostly moved in and have only about 5 boxes left to unpack...but we are definitely still not back in our normal routine quite yet. We should receive our office furniture this Saturday (it's been delayed with this crazy weather). Because we have not set up the study yet, we have neglected getting our Mac set up, being that we didn't want to have to take it all down again after just a couple of weeks. Yeah, we're lazy like that!
In the meantime, I tried to upload the BlogPress app (because I do take quite a bit of pictures with my iPhone), but to no avail. Me and technology don't get along too well. So, I've been reading others' blogs without doing much blogging of my own. For all you family (and friends) out there who are wanting to read up on our little guy, please do not fret :-) I have lots of pictures to transfer to the computer (and send your way), and bookoos of posts to write. Okay, maybe not bookoos...we don't live that interesting (to others, at least) of lives...but I do have some projected posts up my sleeve!
Speaking of our little guy, this mommy has been able to stay at home with him some over the past two weeks of crazy weather. We've had a blast! But we've also had some cabin fever that, I believe, has brought about some behavior issues. Let's just say we are getting lots of practice with time-outs these days :-(
Who, me?

Yes, you...Mr. Testing My Parents and Seeing What I Can Get Away With! I definitely did not expect to be doing time-outs so early and so often. Goodness, I have a lot to learn!

Because you can only think of so many things to do inside (and because JW would look longingly out the window too many times to count), we finally did venture out last Friday after we received about 4-5 inches of snow in our new neck-of-the-woods. Oh, we had fun that morning!

And Brett was able to come home early from work to enjoy our beautiful, albeit frigid, surroundings. I took lots of pictures, so that is one of the posts I promise to comopse once we are up and running again :-) Until then, Happy Winter!

Holy moly, good golly

I have a lot of catching up to do on the blog! Updates on Christmas and New Year's celebrations, the move, our new house, and other family fun are to come :-) In the meantime, sit back and check out this cutie-pie!
Here he is on Wednesday enjoying one of FIVE playgrounds within 200 yards of the new casa...one of the MANY reasons we love, love our new home! boy oh boy are we gonna have a great time this spring and summer! And many summers to come :-) Happy Friday, everyone!

Thanksgiving extras!

Better late then never, right? These photos were just uploaded to the family blog, and I could not resist sharing them on our own. Love the pictures, love our family!
Family pic of MOST of those who could join us for Thanksgiving in Balmorhea (with 35 of us, I think, in the photo not including about 10 who had not yet arrived for the festivities, with Gigi inside and Misty taking the photo :-)

Aerial shot of the makeshift baseball field and game. Great job Aunt Melanie on mowing it!

Sweetness. Cade with Ruby, Grandpa with RileyMore sweetness. My two guys :-)

Big boy!

I forgot to include Jameston's stats from his 15-month check-up...forgetfulness is the story of my life lately!
Weight: 25 lbs. 0.5 ounces (60th%) Height: 32 1/2 inches (80th%) Head circumference: 48.3 cm (80th%)
No wonder my back hurts some days :-)

15-months-old!

Jameston turned 15-months-old on December 20th. I know I've said this before, but my oh my, how time flies. And my oh my, how hard it is to take his growth picture with Mr. Bear! This is the only good one of probably 10 outtakes...
Here he is mid-words, and wish I had gotten this on video! It was comical :-)
Like all toddlers, this boy is ALL OVER THE PLACE!
We have a WALKER! He's getting more confident in his steps (which he's been taking 5 or so steps at a time for a month now) and really took off last week! And I thought he was a busy-body before!

These days, you won't typically find JW with his toys. He's more into pots and pans, and mixing bowls, and helping out with the laundry. He definitely tries to be "Mommy's (and Daddy's) lil' helper!

Please forgive my tardiness with this post...our house has been in complete disarray as we have been busy packing up a storm. We officially moved out this past weekend. It's hard to pack when we have such a great UN-PACKER :-) Yep, one of his favorite past times these days (as seen in the above pics) is to take things OUT of drawers, boxes, etc. Maybe we should pay him when we move into our new house?! What do you think of that idea, Jameston? JW's other loves at this age are:

His tricycle (which he will just scoot around in till his feet are tired, like a little Fred Flintstone)

The piano (we have an electric keyboard), high-fiving and clapping (when he's happy and knows it!), rolling/throwing (not just balls, EVERYTHING) and anything to do with Horses! He's obsessed with them (and LOVES loves this picture in Mommy's/Daddy's room)! His big boy room will be Western-themed for sure :-)

Paper! And we especially noticed his love for paper-products at Christmas (more to come on that in another post)!

BATH-TIME! He.is.a.water.baby.'Nough said.Even with the water drained, he would play in there all night if we let him!BOOKS! Can't you tell?!He gravitates to his book collection and tries to read to us. His favorite right now is his Peakaboo book. So CUTE!!

Oh, and he's just like his Daddy in that he's one analytical fella...here he is training to be an accountant. Like father, like son :-)

And he will stack things and line them up 'til the cows come home!

Checking in on the dogs...to say he loves them would be an understatementAgain, for that analytical mind, his blocksand Legos. So amazing to see his little mind at work!Did I mention he loves his Rock, Roll, 'N Ride trike? With the weather being cooler and the sun setting earlier, our wagon rides are fewer lately. But we take a ride around the house on his "bike" when we can :-)NOISE! Can't you just hear the banging that was going on in this picture? Against his mother's wishes, we may have a future drummer on our hands! If so, he will be wearing hearing protection, no doubt :-)

And, he's busy saying many words. Like his Granny said, when he's not eating or sleeping, he's talking (and keeping everyone entertained)! He current vocab consists of about 20-25 one-syllable words (as stated in his 14-month update) with recent additions of "school" (more like "coo"), "sit" (sounds like a bad word when he says it), "socks and shoes" and one of his current favorites "boo!" And NOW he's mimicking two-syllable words like diaper (he calls them "diders"), "bubbles," "night-night" and the ever-popular "poo-poo." Yep.

Oh, and he tries to say belly button when we ask him where it is (like his nose, ears, and feet). Love it! And, he'll fill in the "Go" gap when I say, "Ready? Set?" SO.CUTE.

A few firsts (or repeats) we've experienced over the last few months: 1) we turned the carseat to forward-facing when he was 14-months-old (it did not bode well at first, but now he's a fan! 2) his third ear infection and 3) his first busted lip. which he suffered one day at daycare. Wobbly feet=more bumps and bruises. Poor babies :-( He's still so cute even with a busted lip!

Our boy continues to be a GREAT eater...in fact, there's really nothing he doesn't try, except melon and avocado. His current faves are Italian and anything with cheese, and he LOVES him some grapes! He's now a milk aficionado (and really, I mean really, likes smoothies) and often calls for it.

We may have a lefty on our hands. Like mother, like son :-)

JW went to one nap a day at about 10 1/2 months at daycare with a two-hour nap after lunch, but when he's home with us he sometimes takes two shorter naps. Oh, and he's gotten 16 teeth in, with only his 2-year-molars to go...and if things go the way they have been with his teething patterns, they'll probably come in early! Good thing he knows where the Orajel is :-)

One of my MANY New Year's resolutions is to post more videos of our little guy. We have a'plenty, but it is the chore of getting them from the camera to the computer to the blog that does me in! So, on the list to post are videos of Jameston "dancing," doing his animal impressions (his "moo" is the absolute cutest), and him walking, of course!
We are set to move into our "new" home in the middle of the month, so more updates (including video) to come! Brett accidentally packed our chargers for the camera/camcorder, so I may have to resort to my iPhone for blogging :-)
