These days, you won't typically find JW with his toys. He's more into pots and pans, and mixing bowls,
and helping out with the laundry. He definitely tries to be "Mommy's (and Daddy's) lil' helper!
His tricycle (which he will just scoot around in till his feet are tired, like a little Fred Flintstone)
The piano (we have an electric keyboard), high-fiving and clapping (when he's happy and knows it!), rolling/throwing (not just balls, EVERYTHING) and anything to do with Horses! He's obsessed with them (and LOVES loves this picture in Mommy's/Daddy's room)! His big boy room will be Western-themed for sure :-)
Paper! And we especially noticed his love for paper-products at Christmas (more to come on that in another post)!
BATH-TIME! He.is.a.water.baby.'Nough said.Even with the water drained, he would play in there all night if we let him!
BOOKS! Can't you tell?!
He gravitates to his book collection and tries to read to us. His favorite right now is his Peakaboo book. So CUTE!!
Oh, and he's just like his Daddy in that he's one analytical fella...here he is training to be an accountant. Like father, like son :-)
And he will stack things and line them up 'til the cows come home!
Checking in on the dogs...to say he loves them would be an understatementAgain, for that analytical mind, his blocks
and Legos. So amazing to see his little mind at work!
Did I mention he loves his Rock, Roll, 'N Ride trike? With the weather being cooler and the sun setting earlier, our wagon rides are fewer lately. But we take a ride around the house on his "bike" when we can :-)
NOISE! Can't you just hear the banging that was going on in this picture?
Against his mother's wishes, we may have a future drummer on our hands! If so, he will be wearing hearing protection, no doubt :-)
And, he's busy saying many words. Like his Granny said, when he's not eating or sleeping, he's talking (and keeping everyone entertained)! He current vocab consists of about 20-25 one-syllable words (as stated in his 14-month update) with recent additions of "school" (more like "coo"), "sit" (sounds like a bad word when he says it), "socks and shoes" and one of his current favorites "boo!" And NOW he's mimicking two-syllable words like diaper (he calls them "diders"), "bubbles," "night-night" and the ever-popular "poo-poo." Yep.
Oh, and he tries to say belly button when we ask him where it is (like his nose, ears, and feet). Love it! And, he'll fill in the "Go" gap when I say, "Ready? Set?" SO.CUTE.
A few firsts (or repeats) we've experienced over the last few months: 1) we turned the carseat to forward-facing when he was 14-months-old (it did not bode well at first, but now he's a fan! 2) his third ear infection and 3) his first busted lip. which he suffered one day at daycare. Wobbly feet=more bumps and bruises. Poor babies :-( He's still so cute even with a busted lip!
Our boy continues to be a GREAT eater...in fact, there's really nothing he doesn't try, except melon and avocado. His current faves are Italian and anything with cheese, and he LOVES him some grapes! He's now a milk aficionado (and really, I mean really, likes smoothies) and often calls for it.
We may have a lefty on our hands. Like mother, like son :-)
JW went to one nap a day at about 10 1/2 months at daycare with a two-hour nap after lunch, but when he's home with us he sometimes takes two shorter naps. Oh, and he's gotten 16 teeth in, with only his 2-year-molars to go...and if things go the way they have been with his teething patterns, they'll probably come in early! Good thing he knows where the Orajel is :-)
We are set to move into our "new" home in the middle of the month, so more updates (including video) to come! Brett accidentally packed our chargers for the camera/camcorder, so I may have to resort to my iPhone for blogging :-)
