Insta-Friday

Our week, documented by pictures from my phone (which may or may not have been doctored by Instagram):
We are renovating-I know, crazy with a baby, but we figured we'd better do it before he's mobile! Floors are down in the office and dining...

Next up: tiling the entryway. What a dusty mess!

Jameston is really interacting with his Baby Brother lately. Be still, my heart (pardon the mess in the background):

How Jameston passes the time while we are in the nursery. And how I have to get Blake to settle down and fall asleep sometimes:

This boy has a dimple when he smiles in his right cheek. Soooo cute!

This boy's imagination is running as wild as ever! I could never grow tired of hearing about what's going on in that little head of his. I think he was telling me about building forts in this picture:

Blake and I enjoying some one on one time while big bro was at Mother's Day Out

Cheesing it up one morning! The rare occasion he wanted me to take his picture!

I could just stare at this face all day! But things need to get done :-)

JW proudly showing his muscles after he endured his second "big" battle-wound that required two butterfly bandages---he head-butted the side of his bed last Wednesday night:-( it was hard on all of us, even Blake (as his room is right by the bathroom where we were treating the gash)!

Brotherly love-melts my heart!

This boy takes his bib's motto seriously :-)

Playing on the sand hill at Granny and Papa's with second-cousin, Ashlynn, who was in from Ireland

Headed to Austin! Can't go without a DQ blizzard on the trip :-)

Second-guessing that choice, after buddy got carsick on the drive from looking at pictures on my iPad :-( he was tough yet again!

Sweetest pic of the week: Daddy and Blake taking a mid-morning nap in the hammock

We bought a zoo...

Membership, that is...the title is a play on a movie we recently watched (it is family-friendly, and I highly recommend it). Two Fridays back, I talked Brett into us taking the boys to the Dallas Zoo. The temperature was appealing, and it being the last day of most public schools, the attendance was low, which was also appealing! So, we headed out first thing that morning...

Blake was awake in the beginning but took a good nap not long after we got going :-) He woke up right before the bird show, which lined up perfectly for his feeding.

JW was pumped!! We had been talking all week about going, as an incentive of sorts for the sometimes-stinker

Love this one...can't remember which animal they were observing

Another goody

Iguanas!

And he's out...our tour guide took two naps in the three hours we were there :-)

Monkeys!

Watching the elephants!

Me and my boy...people say he's looking more like his Momma as he gets older. I don't mind hearing that because all we heard after he was born was how much he looked like Brett. We have the same smile, that's for sure!

Peeking in on the lions-he's obsessed lately with the cats!

On our way out, Jameston wanted to pose on the elephant. We look forward to many more trips to the zoo, probably more so in the fall!

Joyful

Introducing little brother---love the finished product (cannot say enough great things about inababycarriage.com)! And I LOVE the photos Shannon captured for it. We are so blessed to have another healthy boy!

Bath-time

We are proud to say bath time has gotten better in the last few weeks! This boy prefers more space than the baby tub...

This boy likes entertaining Blake with his bath time antics...

And this Mommy is happy both boys get all cleaned up at the same time. Happiness all around!

Now if only bedtime was this easy!

Insta-Friday

Our week through Instagram pics (I'm a tad bit addicted to the app...maybe it appeals to the graphic design part of me?) Anywho, I've seen this on other blogs, and I hope to keep it up!

Checking his email with his assistant, Boomer, one rainy morning

Just being cute

Our Zoo trip last Friday (a separate post to come on that :-)

Jameston has really started interacting more with Blake lately...love!

Our first smiles at 5 weeks! Same age Jameston's appeared

One Saturday afternoon, this is how I found JW after I had heard him singing and reading loudly during naptime. I was busy feeding Blake and went in to check on the anti-napper-as-of-late about 15 minutes later...I guess he figured out how to take off the doorknob cover, but didn't have any more energy to open the door to escape :-)

Lunch after church at Five Guys! The boy loves peanuts (and almonds)!

Blake also discovered his arms and hands around week 5. He's getting more confident and tries to move them toward objects on his bouncer and activity mat

We are in the midst of our first major renovation in our second home...we figured now was as good of a time as ever with me on maternity leave and Brett having a more relaxed schedule at work. More to come on this!

Jameston acting out his version on Samson-I love his love for learning about God

Blake listening to Jameston's interpretation...

Big (and handsome) boy showing us how tall he is

During the recent rain storm, the boys and I hit up Braum's to get out of the house-Jameston was thrilled! This trying to be dairy-free momma wishes they had lactose-free options :-(

One of my faves from the week...Blake snoozing on my lap early one morning

Water fun

With the summer heat comes lots of outdoor water play, especially with a two-year-old boy! I wanted to share these pictures of how we have been spending a lot of our time lately...these were taken with my phone, so not the best quality.

JW loves the water sprinkler from Papa

Three weekends back, a pool full of cousins!

Daddy and Jameston enjoying the community pool

More of the sprinkler...how the kid gets his water intake for the day :-)

Great pic, despite the snot string under his nose...thank goodness I can photoshop!

More at the pool---LOVE!

So the last few days we have been enjoying cooler temperatures along with the rain we've had...I know Jameston is itching to get back outside! I'm hoping it stays cool for awhile-yeah right!
