Fall is here!

The weather is cooler, so we have been enjoying a lot of time outside!
We LOVE our new trampoline!
Brett has been traveling quite a bit, so we really soak up our time when he's home!

Our future artist?
Or farmer/gardener?
After a three-week process (with lots of rain delays and a slow moving contractor),

Our patio/arbor was completed two weeks ago!
And we LOVE our backyard even more now!

Almost three years in-the-making and savings later,
Ta-da! We are super impressed with the contractor's handi-work. We envision a lot of time out there in the years to come!
So we have enjoyed coffee out there in the morning and have been grilling out quite a bit as well :-)
And we've taken as many walks and trips to the playground that this pregnant momma can pull off!

Here's to more time outdoors!

Over halfway there!

How Far Along? 22 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Yes and no...can still wear some of my regular pants (with the Bella band), but regular shirts are starting to look awkward! Definitely banking on the tights and long sweaters in the coming months.

Weight Gain? Probably around 10-12 lbs., really don't keep track

Gender?  It is a....healthy baby! We went in last week for the half-way there sonogram, and little sibling looks great. We are so blessed! His/her heart rate was at 141 bpm and they were weighing in around 15 ounces. Here are some pics from their first photo shoot :-)
The baby was moving all over the place! Even the sonogram tech was amazed by how he or she was flipping around in there. The placenta is posterior, so I feel lots 'o kicks! And it is THE BEST part of being pregnant for sure!
Precious feet, that are kicking me all hours of the day :-)
Waving "hi" to the camera!

Sleep? Sleeping well, except when Brett is traveling. I am becoming more congested, so out come the nasal strips!

Food Cravings? Still on a salads and Asian food kick. And I want pastries, mainly donuts or cake, several times a week :-)

Movements? Oh yes! Started feeling them at 16 weeks, and they have gotten stronger of course! This is the part I will miss most!

Symptoms? Headaches and heartburn...oh, and allergies. I'm a FUN person some days to be around :-)

Best Moment(s) of the Week? Seeing the baby last week for the sonogram. I was so anxious for the appointment, but with a clear bill at that check-up, I am resting easier now. We are blessed beyond measure!
Another great moment, Jameston felt the baby move. He asks me all the time if the baby is kicking me. Ha! And Blake will see me rest my hand on my tummy to feel kicks, and he rushes over and wants to do the same. I know he really doesn't know what he is feeling for, but it is still endearing!

Bump is out in plain sight!
What I am looking forward to: Soaking up this time as a mommy-of-two! I am anxious about managing three. As we keep saying, it will be even more chaotic, but it will be a happy chaos (most of the time of I hope)!

Balloon festival!

Several weekends back I took the boys to the Plano Balloon Festival...well, our version of it anyways :-) Brett had flown to Chicago that day, and I knew I didn't want to lug two boys through the crowd. So we, along with a lot of other people, decided we would take it all in from several miles away!

I packed our dinner,

Let them burn off some energy
Before the launch began
We even attempted a self-portrait, with the dSLR I'll have you because my phone had just crashed (I know, talented :-)
Ha, you see how that went!
Jameston even tried his hand at photography...pretty good for a 4-year-old! I would've smiled/posed better if I new he would have been that good!
With the sun setting, balloons in the background, and a wide-open field as our backdrop, I hoped to get a few good shots of them.
A mom can hope
Ha, it was a fun outing!

Jameston is 4!

How is it that this precious boy is already 4?! My oh my, how time flies!
At the dreaded 4-year appointment, our little superhero weighed in at 38.6 lbs. (75th%) and measured 43 inches tall (95th%). He wears size 4T but probably in 6 months those may be a little short on him :-) And he is wearing a size 11 1/2 to 12 shoes!

Oh, and he is now better able to "fight those bad guys" because of the shots he got!
His list of favorites:

At 4 this boy gets dressed, potties (both) and brushes his teeth all by himself. He talks non-stop, and he constantly amazes us on the questions he asks and the foresight he has! What gets us the most are his prayers and the talks we have about God, Jesus, heaven, etc. He loves to read bible stores, and will say, "God is bigger" if we are talking about a problem, etc. His fave new church song is, "My God is so Big." He has a love for the Lord, and we are so excited to help foster this!
He got a hair cut back in July, mostly due to the crazy bed-head he had in the morning and how his curls would get matted anytime he slept (and mommy's non-desire to brush the tangles out in the morning!)
Bye, bye curls :-(
New 'do! He cracks us up!! He is getting more and more freckles by the day it seems...

This boy is obsessed with listening to/telling stories and reading books! He is enthralled with a new-to-him book and has almost perfected his story-telling skills. His latest loves for books include the Berenstain Bears and his Marvel Superhero books. He used to want us to tell him a story after we read a book at night, but he often takes over the story with his little imagination.  He often says, "And then...guess what?!" Love it!

This past summer was a busy one for our big guy. Baseball and
Swim lessons!
Ha! He has a new confidence in the water :-)
Like most boys, he loves the outdoors!

The boy plays hard and still naps (thank goodness)! He will take a 1 1/2 to 2-hour nap in the afternoons and sleep about10-11 hours at night. He needs his sleep to keep up with all the activity he does during the day!

I feel he may drop his afternoon nap in the next 6 months, but I am hanging onto it for dear life :-) We shall see...
Jameston is such a great eater, always eating most of what is on his plate! He doesn't protest and he knows that if he doesn't eat what is made, he will be hungry (and won't get a "treat"/dessert that night :-) The only problem we have is when it comes to his eating is his dilly-dallying...
He loves to be my "helper" in the kitchen! If I am in there, he wants to know if he can be a "cooker." Love it!
Lately, he is obsessed with all things super-hero, swords and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This was a great $5 thrift sore find!
And his Superman towel. And this face, ha!

 And his sheriff outfit,
and cool shade are not exempt!
His dialogue as he plays cracks us up, and he is still into playing with his tools and cars. He gets a shaky voice when he's exaggerating and uses a hick voice when he's trying to being funny. He recently said, "I'm in a bad mood because my tooth hurts." Can you tell he has a little brother who just got his molars in?! He sometimes says, "When I get married..." or "When I am older and drive..." Whoah, slow down little one. And one of the most endearing things I have overheard him say to Blake, "Mommy's a superhero because she takes care of us." Now, I just need to remember that last one when he's being a hand-full!

He is our little politician and could argue with a wall. I find myself saying a lot, "I love you too much to argue." He is a sweet, sensitive boy and big brother MOST of the time; he is like any 4-year-old and has his moments of "bad choices." If he does something that he knows is wrong, he will usually walk himself up to his room to "think about it."
Jameston still loves to color and is getting better at drawing. His stick-figures are definitely unique, and he is coloring in the lines with great concentration and precision these days :-)

We are working on his writing! He knows his upper and lower case letters and the corresponding sounds, and he can help sound out words. He can count to 30. He knows his days of the week in order and needs a little help with the months of the year. Jameston loves to look at the calendar these days, especially to see whose birthday or what holidays are that month. He will not be starting kindergarten until 2015, so we have time to focus on his writing...he loves the trusty iPad for a lot of app, especially the painting and card apps.
If happiness for a child was measured by how much they sing, I feel like Jameston is a happy boy! He sings ALL. THE.TIME. He loves music, and his favorite instrument is the guitar.

He is a sweet big brother, although he does nag Blake from time to time. But, if Blake is upset, JW is quick to console him. They are often up to some sort of shenanigans, and it makes my heart so full!

And he is such a daddy's boy, as well. He always wants to be "working" with him, often gets his toolbox out, and follows him around outside and in the garage when Brett is working on the house. I am so thankful for a hard-working husband who is instilling a great work ethic in our boys and who is such a strong, spiritual leader for our family.
Jameston still brings up Boomer every now and again. We often talk about heaven because of his passing, and he often includes him in his stories as "Superhero Boomer." So sweet!
He loves school and his teacher and friends there. We are so thankful for his awesome teacher, Ms. Daphne! His prayers often include his friends from church and school. And "our many blessings." Love him!
To our oldest boy,
We are so proud of you and the little person you are! You are a sweet, sensitive boy who captured our hearts from the moment we met you. Each day gets better and better with you and your brother. We love you to the moon and back, JW!!
